Recycled Cloth Bags

I know some stores offer money back if you use them.. which stores?

Karns Coupon Policy

I have found that most of the blogs I follow, none of them have Karns listed as their grocery store nor do they do any matchup offers for this store.  So, I'm going to begin.  Karns is a GREAT place for freezer stocking!  They have great deals on meats and groceries most of the time!

Karns General Coupon Policy

  • Manufacturer coupons doubled to $1.00 unless specified “Do Not Double”.
  • One mfg coupon per like item may be doubled.
  • No more than one coupon per item.
  • Free item coupons are not doubled and may not exceed the retail of the item.
  • Coupons attached to the product at the time of purchase may not be doubled.
  • Cigarette/tobacco coupons are not doubled.
  • An expiration date or the words “No Expiration Date” must be included on the coupon.
  • Redemption information must be included on the coupon.
  • In-ad or Karns sponsored coupons are not for doubling unless otherwise indicated.
Printable Coupons: Customer Helpful Hints
There are a lot of online coupons out there. You may come across offers that appear to be legitimate coupons, but aren’t sure. Here are some guidelines on how to verify and get the most from online coupons. These guidelines have been taken from http://www.couponsinc.com/

  • You should never see the actual coupon on your screen, only an offer to print it. Real coupons require special software to print proper barcodes and limit the number of prints of each coupon.
  • Print coupons only from the brand website for the products you are interested in, or well-known savings sites like Coupons.com, Couponbug.com or major sites that you trust.
  • Avoid coupon-swapping sites and websites that post images of coupons.
  • Never pay for a coupon.
  • Don’t buy coupons on auction sites.
  • Don’t make or use copies of coupons or printouts of scanned images of coupons.
  • Be suspicious of printable coupons for a free product or one that seems too good to be true. It probably is!
Karns Foods Printable Coupon Acceptance Policy
Karns Foods accepts legitimate printable coupons that consumers receive via retailer and manufacturer websites and email campaigns through interactive and promotions on web publisher sites, and from legitimate online coupon sites. We recognize that our customers are increasingly turning to the internet to find coupons. In an effort to make using printable coupons a positive experience, we have created these store policies and consumer guidelines to help consumers and store personnel alike prevent the abuse of these promotions.
Printable Coupons…
Karns Foods will accept printable (internet) coupons that meet the following criteria:
  • Scan properly at the checkout.
  • Have a value of up to and including $1.00 unless otherwise reported as counterfeit.
  • One coupon only for like items.
Karns Foods will not accept or may require management approval for printable (internet) coupons that meet the following criteria:
  • Contain the word ‘free”.
  • Contain a lengthy or altered expiration date.
  • Are altered, blurry, or are obvious duplicates.
  • Have a dollar value of more than $1.00 or are advertised as a % off.
  • Multiple coupons for like items.

slacking!

What I did today:  I finished clipping all of my coupons!  YAY!  I'm going to add more categories into my coupon binder, further breaking down the larger categories.  I found that I ran into a problem with some coupons and not knowing where to put them.  :(

The girls had baton last night, so things were put on hold for a bit.  I still need to finish cleaning off E's baton to get ready for competition.  I'm pretty excited about getting to see all of her costumes on Thursday!

What I did today..

I learned to knit!  (I actually started this last night!)  Thanks to knittinghelp.com , I can now say that I know how to knit.  I'm working on a scarf for E, since she says that I never make her anything.  LOL!

How is my coupon binder organized?

I warn... I have a touch of OCD... LOL!

I have a bright canary yellow binder that I picked up at Dollar General for $2.  In it, I have page protectors that I picked up at Dollar Tree for $1 (25 protectors in each packet!).  I made my own indexes using index cards and tape.

The sections:
  1. Dairy - milk, ice cream, yogurt, sour cream, cottage cheese, butter, cheese, other dairy
  2. Breakfast - cereal, granola bars, Quaker products, breakfast mix, frozen breakfast, etc.
  3. Beverages - soda, fruit juice, veggie juice, powdered, other
  4. Canned - fruit, veggies, soup, broth, chili, sauce, other
  5. Condiments - mayo, pickles, olives, salad toppings, salad dressings, ketchup, muistard, peanut butter, jelly, other
  6. Grains - Dry pasta, mac & cheese, hamburger helper, rice, side dishes, potatoes, other
  7. Snacks - fruit snacks, nuts, popcorn, gum, candy, chocolate, crackers, cookies, chips, other
  8. Baking - brownies, cake mixes, muffins, frosting, sugar, oil, flour, spices, other
  9. Frozen - bread, rolls, pizza, dessert, pasta, veggies, dinners, meat, other
  10. Food misc. - diet, health, Mexican, Asian, meat, other
  11. Baby - diapers, soap, food, other
  12. Medication - laxatives, aspirin, tylenol, cough drops, muscle pain, cold meds, tums, pepto, first aide and other
  13. Paper - tissue, TP, paper towels, napkins, paper plates, cups, ziploc bags, other
  14. Soap - hand soap, body wash, shampoos and other
  15. Personal Care - deodorant, feminine hygiene, razors, shave gel, other
  16. Toothpaste - toothpaste, toothbrushes, mouth wash, dental floss, other
  17. Make Up - lotions, chapstick, make up
  18. Dish Soap - liquid, powdered, laundry and other laundry/dish items
  19. Home - other cleaners, carpet, floor, window, clorox, lysol, bathroom, glade, oust, febreeze, other
  20. Pets - food, care, etc.
  21. Batteries
  22. Over All Grocery - for example: the coupons that print from the register giving you so much of your next grocery purchase
  23. Toys
  24. Clothing
  25. Arts/Crafts
Next I have a listing of my reward cards for each store.

I have a section for Store Specific Coupons:
  1. Bath & Body
  2. Children's Place
  3. Chuck E Cheese
  4. Dollar General
  5. Dunkin' Donuts
  6. Family Dollar
  7. Giant
  8. KMart
  9. McDonald's
  10. Other Restaurants
  11. Subway
  12. Target
  13. Weis
I thought to keep better track, I will place any coupons that I find and think we *might* use in these pages.  That way I know where they are at all times.

I also have a section for Store maps.  I know you can pick them up at the Giant stores.  That way, I can make my grocery lists out efficiently, knowing where each item is in the store.

I warned you.. OCD! ;)  LOL!

I also have lined notebook paper in the book to keep my lists on, as well as complete a store guide so that I know prices of frequently bought items.  That way I can compare prices when stores come out with items that they list as "SALE" and really are not for another store.

When I write my lists, I have placed the list and coordinating coupons in a page protector and placed that list in the front of the binder for easy access.

A Yahoo Coupon Group!

What could be better?  A group to talk about  and exchange... COUPONS!

What I did today..
I printed out Target store coupons and matched them with manufacturer coupons.  Not sure what the savings will be there, but I'm going after it!

Dollar General has a $5/$25 coupon that is valid on Saturday, so I matched some coupons with their current ad as well.

I will post the match ups a little later! ;)

I started my grocery list for the month.  This list includes the general stock up things.  For example: Toilet paper, paper towels, feminine hygiene products, toothpaste, etc..

January 3, 2011

And it all begins. I have started a binder to organize coupons. I plan to become a coupon mom to the best of my abilities in 2011. I work from home, so saving as many pennies as possible is what I need to do. We want to be debt free.

I started canning last summer, so that will continue this summer as well. We are using the tomatoes that were canned, as well as the corn that I was able to freeze for the winter. Makes me proud that we can do that!

My goals for 2011:
Learn to knit
Learn to use the sewing machine that is collecting dust
ORGANIZE!
Become closer to debt free
Become healthier

Both hubby and I are in a gym, trying to lose the weight that took us years to put on. While we know that it's a long process to lose it, we are working on it and becoming healthier as we are doing it. It's great that we are able to set this example for our kids and to raise their awareness.
